Seekers

My Christmas wish for a Happy Holiday Season...blessings, mid

Seekers

Weary travelers from the East afar,
following stardust, wander.

“Whom do you seek?” whispers the night. “A King of importance,” their answer.

“We know Him,” utters their burdened beasts.
“I’ve touched Him,” sighs the wind.

Each day they journey the path of the sun, from its birth to its dying embers. Each night, from the veil of darkness, leads a light, that beckons them onward.

“I feel Him,” says the sunshine warm.
“We see Him,” twinkle the stars.

Their trek is long, but they are urged on, by their knowledge of heavenly splendor, which can only mean, that this is no King,of common earthly honor.

“He’s both,” bow the trees knowingly.
“You’ll see,” shifts the sand beneath.

Through foreign lands they continue their search, each heart intrigued by the mystery, and their questions evoke a wondering, that in time will lead others to seek.

“He formed us,” the rocks try to tell them.
“We are His breath,” falls the snow on their cheeks.

But the palace they find, holds no newborn King, just a ruler with jealous obsessions, who uses their knowledge with evil intent, and leaves Rachael to weep for her loved ones.

“Keep searching,” the birds call around them.
“But be careful,” the heavens warn.

So they follow again when the star reappears, and leads them to a humble dwelling, where, within, they kneel to a lowly child--the One they were so long in seeking.

“We’ve found Him!” They shout with resounding joy.
“He’s always been,” Creation breathes.

the first three weeks in Canada

Now I live with my partner since three weeks in Edmonton / Canada and we don't feel uncomfortable. We are happy about the close distance to our friends who are living in U.S. and Canada. The artists are very appreciated here and the atmosphere is embracing to all new residents. It is a very inspiring environment and I started again to paint and my partner enjoy's working as chef. We phone every weekend with our family in Europe to keep a close contact.

somber skies.....

There are somber skies that pass us bye, sometime- as death calls us like a cold sunset in the blink of an eye-as the warmth of the earth fleetingly fades with the blazingly beautiful autumn leaves of the evening tide; and thin bare branches reach across the long horizon and beckon our gaze up to the heavenly sky, as eternity seems to helplessly sigh a loving farewell and reverent goodbye to all that stands in its shadows wake………..

Numb

Living through that night felt like falling down an endless flight of stairs – without pain. I glided through routine, tumbled over his surprises, and slammed against a few of my own. Parts of the evening excited me, others frightened or disappointed. The negative canceled the positive, leaving me on an even keel of numb.

I had never considered myself a keeper of secrets, especially from him. He listened well; I talked better. I told him my past, gave him my present, and included him in my dreams. Often, I told him I loved him and appreciated our relationship. I offered him a smorgasbord of me and allowed him to choose what and how much he wanted.

Thousand Years of Pride

THOUSAND YEARS OF PRIDE

There’s a thread stretching through history
A war for hearts and minds
Filled with demons, spectres, ghosts and thieves
Blindfolds, shutters and blinds

Centuries of wasted time
A sad, pathetic climb
Above the sound of crashing skulls
Beyond our own lifetime

We fill the need for love with plastic
Soft amorphous words
They fall to the floor with a deafening boom

3rd day Nanowrimo update

Actually forgot to write anything yesterday, so did double today (30mins) and I'm now up to 1078 words.

1st day of Nanowrimo

With my new goal being to write for at least 15 minutes/day rather than 50,000 words, I wrote for an hour today and my word total is 530. What was cool was that while at first it was horrible, I just forced myself to write and it started coming out. And when it stopped, I kept pushing and more stuff came out (eek sounds gross!) to the point now that I can start to see how an idea I had a few days ago can start to form.
