Hello all! I'm a painter, true, but I enjoy creativity in all forms. When the muse stikes I must answer Her call. Now that I'm on the Net I find unending opportunities to write in ways I hadn't before. I've never cared for holding a pen to write with, and found that my fingers think best through a keyboard. ABOUT THE ARTIST

Many of Tree Pruitt's creations combine skills, from a variety of sources, to create unique works of art. Paintings, sculptures, assembleges & photographs, are included amoung her fine art offerings. Tree also creates gallery quality Native American style items, often using pre-1900's methods. From her nature photography, Tree forms web graphics, clothing & gift designs. Sarcasm, nostalgic, & "Pop-art" may be used to describe her style. Fine art works from Tree Pruitt may be found in private collections around the world. Inquire for referrals.

On occassion, her muse will smack Tree with a pen rather than a brush, and she feels compelled to write. The results may be poetry, new-age prayers, articles, blog entries, or existentialistic ponderings to be added to a painting. Her writings and art work have been published in periodicals such as Circle Network News Magazine, Llewellyn's New World Publications, as well as various local newspapers, websites and newsletters.
Tree, along with her husband James(J & T Pruitt Arts), offer their minds as freelance conceptualists, and for design consultation. Writers, film makers, production designers, advertisers, & others may purchase original concepts for their own use & developement (Link to more information soon).

A piece, for Tree, generally begins with a concept or phrase -- a collection of words that grabs a hold upon the artist. Then, an exploration of the meaning and implications of those words generate a series of emotional responses in mental pictures. From there the artist further develops the concept through a pattern of internal conversation and/or concept sketches. The goal of the final outcome is to respond, in which ever media best applies, to questions raised and/or cause the viewers to discover the concept for themselves. Having a fondness for allegory, Tree often invests great effort into research of symbols used through all ages that can still speak to the inner mind of man today. Many times a concept image develops to the point that it becomes very different from what the artist originally intended, often expressing a greater depth. Tree feels that this reflects the natural progression of communication and the evolution of the human spirit. Through meditation and other spiritual devises she has developed an ability to allow the collective unconscious to speak aloud in dreamlike images.
